One of my favorite companies to watch out for at every CES is Corsair, as the company doesn't only offer a wide-range of products, most of what's seen is usually really solid in design and instills me with that "I WANT IT!" feeling. This year, the company has announced a new SSD, flash drives, a power supply, a budget chassis, and a couple of cooling products. For those yearning for an SSD with "no compromises", there's Corsair's Neutron XT. Available in sizes of 256GB ($150), 512GB ($270), and 960GB ($540), this Phison-based drive will deliver 560MB/s reads and 540MB/s writes.... Read more...
EVGA has long been offering some of the most impressive-looking power supplies on the planet, both in terms of performance and features. With its just-announced SuperNOVA 1200 P2, the company looks to continue that legacy. As you may have been able to glean from its name, EVGA's latest PSU is a 1200W unit. Promising up to 92% efficiency at full-load, the SuperNOVA 1200 P2 earns itself an 80 PLUS Platinum badge - the only one better is Titanium, but units with that are super-rare at this point. It should be noted, though, that EVGA is expected to release a 1600W unit in the near-future that does... Read more...
It's one thing for a company to say they believe in their product, but it's quite another to prove it. That said, it's obvious EVGA truly believes in its new SuperNOVA G2 power supply line, as evidenced by the generous10-year warranty. In addition to a elongated warranty period, EVGA's newest PSUs also boast 80 Plus Gold certification and high quality construction throughout. The SuperNOVA G2 is available in 750W and 850W models, both of which use Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors. Should you tear either PSU open -- and we don't recommend you do that, for fear of electrocution and... Read more...

Power supplies might be the least glamorous part of a PC build, yet ironically enough, some would argue they're the single most important component you can pick out, especially if you intend to overclock and/or are rocking high-end hardware. Unlike cases and peripherals, most PSUs aren't all that flashy, but Thermaltake's new Toughpower XT 1275W Platinum Snow Edition bucks that trend by adding a bit of "white ecstasy on PC performance," the company says. The Snow Edition unit is a nearly all-white PSU, including the fan blades, which comprise the 14cm dual-ball bearing fan with three fan modes... Read more...

Now new and improved, Corsair enhanced the GS Series family with a more energy efficient design, earning an 80 Plus Bronze certification in the process. In addition, Corsair claims the redesigned PSUs provide quieter, fanless operation at low power loads. "The GS Series line has been popular with PC enthusiasts who demand quiet, good-looking, and affordable power supplies they can count on," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager for Components at Corsair. "Now we are proud... Read more...
Remember when a 350W power supply would get the job done? In some builds, a modest amount of wattage is all you need, but today's high-end systems demand much, much more. Hence why there are so many beefy power supplies on the market, like Antec's newly minted High Current Pro 1000 Platinum PSU with 80 Plus Platinum certification. It's actually Antec's first kilowatt-class PSU to be 80 Plus Platinum certified, which means you can count on a minimum 89 percent efficiency at 20-100 percent load levels. Antec says it runs as efficiently as 94 percent. "We wanted to give users the best possible feature... Read more...

You often hear computers being compared to cars, especially when it comes to tinkering and overclocking, but whereas there's nothing sweeter sounding than the loud roar of a big block engine, PCs are most admired when they run silently. That's not always easy to accomplish, and to help you towards that goal, Cooler Master just launched its Silent Pro M2 line of modular power supplies. Cooler Master claims it improved the 135mm fan in the Silent Pro M2 series to run longer and quieter than before, though the company stopped short of offering up any particulars, such as the exact noise level and...
