Alternately, you can get your full geek on over at PiDay.org, a website that obviously embraces the holiday and is a place you can learn more about Pi, pick up themed gear like T-shirts, buttons,... Don't expect this issue to go away anytime soon. We know many are (understandably) upset over the DRM used on the critically-acclaimed game Spore, not just because of SecuROM but also because of the "three activations limitation" and one account per CD key (which was not noted in the manual; in fact the opposite was said in the manual!). And hey, if the game allows you to create the creatures you want, why not create a protest creature, eh? A look at Sporepedia (Spore's official encyclopedia of creatures) shows that users aren't shy about expressing their displeasure. A search for DRM, for example,... Read more...
It appears that Microsoft is doing a lot more than having Jerry Seinfeld munching churros and going shoe shopping with Bill Gates to help bolster the company's image. Part of Microsoft's $300 million marketing campaign includes placing Microsoft customer service representatives in select consumer electronics retail outlets across the U.S. Similar in nature to "Apple Geniuses," Microsoft will be placing 155 "Microsoft Gurus" at Best Buy, Circuit City, and similar stores before the end of this year--presumably in time for the holiday shopping season. While the Microsoft Gurus will "be answering questions... Read more...
