Cisco Systems has introduced a new data center switch, to go with the new Fiber Channel Over Ethernet standard networking platform, that is mind-bogglingly powerful and fast. With the increasing demand placed on networks by high bandwith applications like video, and the amount of just plain data that any business generates, data centers are constantly struggling to increase capacity. A recent article in The Inquirer indicated that ATI, as well as other vendors, had  "particularly badly" written drivers which could expose the Vista kernel to attack.  This afternoon ATI plans to release a new driver package with a critical security fix in response to this issue. "The market recently discovered a potential security vulnerability that could impact AMD's Catalyst software package. Microsoft sold 20 million copies of Windows Vista in February, a rather strong start according to them. In comparison, Windows XP sold 17 million copies in the two months follow its release. While the numbers are there, analysts warn it's still a little to early to gauge the OS's overall popularity, and it's also worth noting that even though Vista's sales are stronger than XP's were, the number of consumers have nearly doubled since XP's launch.
