Monster has made quite a name for itself in the consumer electronics world -- if you asked a pundit, they'd tell you that Monster has made a name for overcharging for typical cords and such. But it also doled out some pretty good gear, especially in the audio world. Now, Nokia is teaming up with a known name to release the Purity Pro Wireless headset. These are cordless cans, where music is transferred over via Bluetooth. They feature one-touch pairing with your smartphone through NFC, but standard Bluetooth pairing is available for those without an NFC-enabled device. As with most Monster items,... Read more...

Did you tune into the start of the Major League Baseball season last night? A great many people did, and anyone watching ESPN2 from around 7PM ET until near midnight probably saw lots of product placement. An iPad was there, as was LeBron James and Dr. Dre, both of which were at the game primarily to pump up their latest product: the Red Sox version of a new headphone. These are the first-ever sports-themed Beats by Dr. Dre headphones available to the public, and they've been officially branded by the Red Sox baseball franchise. These headphones are, of course, tied in with Monster Audio, and as... Read more...
For the longest time, Monster was known for one thing and one thing only: for producing high-quality, over-the-top, overpriced cables. These days, a lot of folks have caught on to Monster's games and are looking elsewhere, so maybe that's why we've seen the company branching out more into varying sectors of consumer electronics. Specifically, Monster has been cranking out headphone after headphone, with the latest set being of the earbud variety. In typical Monster fashion, the new Turbine Pro headphones are extremely flashy, and if you believe the press release, they're probably the best in-ear... Read more...
While we're always a tad skeptical when some company selects a flavor-of-the-week artist to endorse its products, we're doubly so when a company selects two artists to endorse its products. Take Monster, for example, which is probably best known for charging insane prices for cabling in big box retailers and somehow convincing consumers that their copper wiring is superior.Monster, alongside the famous Dr. Dre and the increasingly famous Lady Gaga, has this week decided to push out a new set of headphones. The device falls into the Beats By Dr. Dre product line, and the name--Heartbeats by Lady... Read more...

There is a ton of activity in the solid state drive market, with new products announced seemingly on a weekly basis. One SSD product that generated some buzz out at Computex last month was the PhotoFast G-Monster-V5, due to its claimed 270MB/s read and write speeds. It wasn't available back then, however, we just got our hands on one for a quick evaluation and thought we'd give you a sneak peek at the goods. We'll be doing a more thorough evaluation of this drive in the days ahead, but we wanted to show you some pictures and preliminary numbers to whet your appetites.       256GB... Part of jobsearch giant Monster.com was yanked off the Internet for a short period on Monday after it was discovered that hackers had managed to redirect some Monster users to servers where they were exposed to an exploit that collected sensitive personal data from them. The iFrame attack marred employment listings offered by some of the world's biggest companies, including Best Buy, Toyota Financial and Eddie Bauer, Thompson said. People who visited those listings were redirected to a server that hosted the exploits. The malicious javascript was encrypted, making it hard to know exactly how it... Read more...

One for the weekend?  Sure, why not...    MonsterGecko - an over-grown lizard or manufacturer of innovative Gaming Controllers?  If you hazard a guess at the latter you'd be on the mark. Which by the way is exactly what their new PistolMouse is aimed to provide you, precision fragging with a classic "gat" kind of feel.   Stealth checks out MonsterGecko's PistolMouse FPS today.  It's like an offer you can't refuse...  ... In all of our experience with personal computers, we've never quite came across a device like the one which is the focus of today's review, the PistolMouse FPS by MonsterGecko.  Suited primarily for first person shooters, the PistolMouse is an 800dpi optical mouse masquerading as a Glock pistol.  When we first laid eyes upon its flashy red and black box, visions of laying waste to opponents in on-line matches flashed in our minds.  Soon after, we put in a call to MonsterGecko to see if the PistolMouse was truly up to the task.        CLICK ANY IMAGE...   January 12   A3D - The Old And The NEW - Vortex 2 vrs. Vortex 1   Diamonds Little Monster Sound MX300 For this little spotlight I would like to take a close look at how technology advances, specifically in the field of 3D sound. For me, and historically for a lot of folks, sound cards are sometimes an afterthought. As long as the sound produced is in stereo and is free of noise and hiss, I was satisfied with my good old Sound Blaster 16 ISA card. Then, just like the evolution from 2D SVGA graphics to 3D Enhanced, trilinear filtered yadda, yadda, yadda... came the birth of 3D Positional... Read more...
