AMD just sent over a note with an interesting link that you all have to see. To coincide with the release of the new, sub-$100 Radeon HD 5670, AMD is embarking on campaign to entice users to upgrade. The slogan? "It's so easy, a monkey could do it!" "It’s been a hot season for PC gamers, with the recent releases of games like DiRT 2, Modern Warfare 2, and Dragon Age: Origins. To get the most out of these games – to play at the best frame rates, at higher resolutions, and with the most eye candy turned on – a graphics upgrade might be in order, and, for some of your readers, that prospect may be... Amazon is preparing to offer an e-book reader and associated download service on Monday of next week. There's already been several unsuccessful attempts to bring the printed word to portable electronic devices, without the eye-tiring backlit pixels you're looking at right now, for instance.  Unlike other devices, Amazon's "Kindle" reader is concentrating on the method of delivery of the content, not as much on the unit itself. He's a story that gives new meaning to the term "monkeying around". Zoo Atlanta has been encouraging Sumatran Orangutans to interact with touch screens incorporated into a fake tree, in an effort to study their cognitive abilities. "Four-year-old Bernas isn't the computer wizard his mom is, but he's learning. Just the other day he used his lips and feet to play a game on the touch-screen monitor as his mom, Madu, swung from vines and climbed trees. The two Sumatran orangutans at Zoo Atlanta are playing computer games while researchers study the cognitive skills of the orange and brown primates.... Read more...
It appears that the top-brass at Digg have banned one of their most prominent members, Stacy Doss AKA 3Monkeys, for no apparent reason.  We want to bring this story to your attention because Stacy Doss also happens to be one of our valued team members here at HotHardware. TH: Why do you suppose you've been given the snub this time - after 4 days of emails and no response? SD: I honestly couldn't begin to guess. There has been a lot of friction between the top users at digg and the average user at digg. I believe that the digg staff has a thorny issue with that friction. Trying... Read more...
