Acer announced the new Iconia Tab A700 tablet which features a 10.1-inch HD 1080p display with a 1920x1200 resolution. This display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, 800:1 contrast ratio and a very wide 178 degree viewing angle. The A700 is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and Android 4.0. Multimedia features include Dolby Mobile 3+ with 5.1-channel home theater surround sound capabilities and a micro HDMI port. If you have an Acer A100 or A500 tablet, you may be wondering when that promised update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is coming. Previously, Acer said the update will be available in April. Now that April is winding down, Acer is getting more specific with a date. On Acer's support page, the company revealed that US owners of the 7-inch Acer A100 and 10.1-inch A500 tablets will begin receiving the ICS update starting April 27th. Acer announced the new Iconia Tab A200 tablet. As the latest addition to Acer's tablet lineup, the Iconia Tab A200 features a 10.1-inch display (1280 x 800) as well as an attractive price of $329.99. The tablet will ship with Android 3.2 aka Honeycomb and Acer will offer a free upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in mid-February. About a month ago, Acer revealed a new Iconia Tab A200 tablet running on Ice Cream Sandwich that features a NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual Core 1 GHz processor. At the time of the announcement, Acer indicated the tablet would ship sometime in January which makes us think we should see the tablet at CES next week.
