We simply must chalk this one up in the totally cool column.  After all, how many times have you been asked to specify your own dream product by top-tier manufacturers?  The world's first "crowd-sourced" personal computer is the vision and goal of the new Asus and Intel WEPC campaign and web site.  What are your top five must-have features for a top-of-the-line notebook?  Do you want it as powerful as you can get it, at the expense of a boat anchor weight class? Or would your rather have something lighter, nimble but still full-featured?  We here... You know our HH Forum regulars are definitely a lively, ambitious crew, always eager to lend a hand, some advice or an opinion, sometimes whether you ask for one or not.  Many of the HotHardware Elite possess a wealth of knowledge such that, if you're in the dark on something, they'll be happy to oblige and shed some light, tips or tricks from their own personal tool bag; if you'll just simply take the time to register and then fire off a thread.  In addition, many of our dedicated members are gifted with some pretty "mad skillz" when it comes to custom mods, systems builds and designs. ... We have a request that we were hoping you could all help us with.  First off, we want to thank you for being a part of the community here.  Our forum members and readers are what we're all about at HotHardware, and we very much value your opinions. If you haven't noticed yet, HotHardware partnered with Federated Media for our ad campaigns recently, as well as other services, to help keep the lights on around here. If you enjoy HotHardware and have a few minutes, please consider filling out this brief survey.  It is completely annonymous and respects... Read more...
So you might want to file this one under "huh?" right from the get-go but allows us to expand your horizons a bit anyway.  Imagine it's 6:43AM, you're just sitting down at the breakfast table to a couple of english muffins, a bowl of grapenuts, or the lumberjack breakfast.  Whatever gets you going in the morning; you get the idea.  But something just isn't right.  Ahhh, right.  Like a double Espresso, grande caramel macchiato or tall cold Rockstar, you need your morning shot of HH!  The day just wouldn't start off right without it.  Have no fear, the Yuno PC is... USB 3.0 is right around the corner, and rather than a minor speed boost, it looks like a serious technology reworking that could help USB 3.0 last well into the next decade. The major features of USB 3.0 are a tenfold speed increase and the obligatory lower power consumption."USB 3.0 is the next logical step for the PC's most popular wired connectivity," said Jeff Ravencraft, Intel technology strategist and USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) president.  "The digital era requires high-speed performance and reliable connectivity to move the enormous amounts of digital content now present in everyday... Ever wonder what other HH readers might classify as a "good day"?  Some go fishing and the old adage applies, "even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work".  Meanwhile others go flying.  And a good day flying is pretty great.  Check our Utah from a few thousand feet up at DerMeister's perspective...   Nice views Der.  Purple Mountains Majesty (and canyons too) - you can't beat it....
