Years back, embedded systems weren't much good in the consumer realm. They were used for rather boring enterprise applications, and not much else. But with the power packed even into low-end CPUs and APUs these days, that's all changing. Habey USA is leading that charge in a way, with the introduction of quite a few interested embedded rigs in recent months. The company's newest is the BIS-6564, combining both Habey’s ICEFIN case design and embedded MITX-6564 board to bring a fanless, high performance embedded system. Equipped with the low powered dual core Atom and dual heat pipes, the BIS-6564... Read more...
Here's an... interesting one. Habey USA isn't exactly known for pumping out vanilla machines, and the company's keeping it weird with their latest idea. The new 12" Touchscreen Intel Dual Core Atom Nvidia ION Panel PC doesn't have much of a name (the model number is PPC-6512), but that long-winded title tells you most everything you'd need to know about it. There's a 12" widescreen panel, HDMI/VGA outputs, a serial port, two mini-PCIe ports, four x USB, a single eSATA socket, an Ethernet jack, a 1.3MP webcam and a VESA mount for those looking to give it a more permanent home. It's equipped with... Read more...
Habey USA is a company best known for producing small, quiet, fanless machines that are easily hidden. These desktops have grown progressively more powerful over the years, and the newest model steps things up with a lot of expansion options. The new WIT-1800 is an Atom-based unit (embedded PC) with four mini-PCIe slots, dual SIM slots for 3G support and an ICH8M chipset. The Atom N450 is at the core, and with two SIM slots, this little desktop can get online nearly anywhere. It's designed for use in the field, where Wi-Fi may not readily be available. It also supports SSDs and has a VGA output,... Read more...
As you can tell from the model name (BIS-6550HD from earlier this month; BIS-6540HD from present), there aren't a whole lot of differentiating factors in Habey's newest HTPC. And hey, that's the good news! Just like the machine we saw emerge about a week ago, this new system includes an Intel 1.6GHz N270 Atom processor, a built-in ultra low-power HD AVC/VC-1/MPEG-2 hardware decoder (which is capable of decoding of H.264 / VC-1 media contents at up to 40Mbps and MPEG-2 at up to 125Mbps) and support for Blu-ray Disc playback. As with its sibling, this machine is quite energy conscience as well, consuming... During our recent time with Asus' Eee PC 1000HE, we tried playing back a 1080p movie trailer just for kicks. To our surprise, it did manage to stutter along and get through it, but it was far from "watchable." And that was with an Atom N280 within. Now, we're seeing a diminutive new media PC with Intel's aging 1.6GHz Atom N270 that can reportedly handle 1,920 x 1,080 high definition material -- which just has to be a joke, right? Not quite. Habey's unique BIS-6550HD, which has undoubtedly put the company on the consumer electronics map, possesses something than most netbooks and nettops simply do... Read more...
