If you've always wanted to spend a small fortune on a professional camera designed specifically for digital cinematography, today just happens to be your lucky day. Canon's new EOS C300 Cinema is available for pre-order for a cool $15,999 with free shipping, so technically this is a sub-$16,000 camera, in case that helps you pitch it to your significant other. Most of you already see the world in 3D, so why not come out with a camera that takes 3D photos and movies? One reason would be that you already tried that and, well, things didn't turn out so hot. But rather than tuck its tail between its legs and give up, FujiFlim has stormed back to the market with its FinePix RealPix Real 3D W3, the followup act to the ill-regarded W1. This time around FujiFilm bumped up the LCD screen real estate to 2.5 inches, added 720p video recording, and HDMI 1.4 for viewing those pics and videos straight away on your swank HDTV. "Last year, Fujifilm introduced the first... Read more...

How To Work With Your Digital Camera's Histogram @ The Tech Zone: "While teaching a recent photography workshop, an older fellow in the back of the room raised his hand. He said, "I just bought me a new toy and she's a beauty! But I can't figure out how to make the hysterectomy work?" Fortunately, my student wasn't describing a woman. He was talking about how to pull up the histogram on his new Nikon digital camera. His confusion is not unusual. When I use my digital cameras around film people, one of the first things they see and ask about is the histogram. They want to know what... Read more...
Good morning and happy Friday to all.  Today starts off Memorial Day weekend here in the states.  For starters that automatically means a three day weekend and a boatload of traffic on the highways.  It also is a sign that summer is rapidly approaching.  Traditionally this is a time of year where families get together, barbeque and enjoy some cold beverages.  But most of all, we take the time to remember the men and women who served this great country by giving their lives in battle.  Something we should never forget, especially today when we have troops doing...
