For a company that knows how to dish out the lawsuits, it's pretty funny to think what would happen if the tables were turned. Of course, it doesn't look like it's coming to come to that in this particular case. Shortly after iOS 6 hit the iPad, Swiss Federal Railways recognized that the clock icon in the new Clock app looked a lot like a clock that it has a patent on. Too alike. So much alike, that it quickly sought out Apple and informed it that it best pony up. Now, it looks as if the two companies have reached an agreement on the use of SBB's station clock on certain devices such as iPads and... Read more...
It could be said that when it sues others for stealing design ideas, Apple is a pot calling the kettle black. Further damning evidence is that Apple appears to have swiped the design for the clock in iOS 6 from the Swiss Federal Railways iconic clock. Here’s a side-by-side of the two: Image credits: Newlyswissed (L) and iDownload Blog (R) As you can see, they’re essentially identical. And yes indeed, the Swiss Federal Railways is taking legal action against Apple for using it illegally. According to swissinfo.ch, the railway clock is widely licensed and used for timepieces of all shapes... Read more...
iLuv has managed to hold their own in the volatile iPod accessory market, and now they're one of the biggest names in the iPod clock market. Amazingly enough, it seems that not everyone has one of these yet, because iLuv just keeps cranking them out. The newest one is a bit different than the others, though, with the iMM190 App Station coming with an iLuv app clock application. The stylish device is available now to U.S. consumers, and when docked (and the app running), users can actually use their iPod touch or iPhone display as a large clock, weather screen or to view loads of other bits of small,... The new iMM183 is taking things to the next level by being the world's first dual dock alarm clock with a weather radio. That's a lot of functionality in a small device, and if you've been looking for a great excuse to replace that aging alarm clock that has been beeping at your for decades, this is it. The advanced clock is designed to hold and charge up to two iPods and iPhones (with dock connectors), and it can be programmed to set off multiple alarms... Read more...

NVIDIA’s and AMD’s graphics board partners usually take differing approaches when releasing factory overclocked variants of each company’s respective high-end GPUs. When NVIDIA launches a new part for example, their board partners typically have factory overclocked versions at the ready, and at launch, it’s sometimes easier to find overclocked cards than stock reference models. AMD’s board partners, however, don’t usually take the same approach. When AMD launches a new ATI Radeon, the first batch of cards to hit typically follow the reference design to the letter, and custom, factory overclocked... Read more...

Just last week, we posted an evaluation of a Radeon HD 3650 card by Diamond Multimedia, where said manufacturer decided to one-up ATI's reference specifications by raising the amount of on-board memory to a full one gigabyte.  The results, unfortunately, were not overly favorable as the memory happened to be of the inexpensive, low-speed DDR2 variety.Today, however, we take a look at two more HD 3650s, one each from ASUS and HIS, where the emphasis was placed more on clock speeds than on memory buffer size.  While the default speeds set forth by ATI's reference specifications were listed...
