And just like that, BlackBerry's first U.S.-bound BB10 device has Verizon Wireless' support. The Z10 had yet to be announced for VZW until today, but it looks as if it'll ship to customers of that carrier just days after it arrives on AT&T's network. With BlackBerry, formerly known as RIM, in a make-it-or-break-it situation with BB10 as well as the Z10 and Q10 handsets, the company's CEO has confirmed that it won't be delving into the low-end market that it has done quite well in in the past. BlackBerry phones have sold like hotcakes in emerging markets, helping the company to bolster itself while sales fell in developed nations like the U.S., but now, it appears that BB10 won't be tailored to bargain bin phones. We're pretty sure the executives at RIM, er, BlackBerry, have nothing personal against Japan. It's a fine country, and we're pretty sure the top brass there have given it a visit in recent years. But that said, Japanese citizens patiently awaiting BlackBerry 10 are going to have to swallow some bad news this week. Despite shipping in the company's native Canada, and promises to hit the U.S. market in a few months, BB10 won't ever make it onto Japanese shelves.
