We figured it would only be a matter of time before this happened, and now that touch panels are really taking off, Albatron is looking to take advantage of a huge market opportunity. Today, the only (easy) way to enjoy a touch experience is to totally upgrade your machine; you either have to buy a new touch-ready all-in-one PC, a new touch-ready notebook or a new touch-ready LCD. Basically, you're looking at a new investment in hardware at the very least. But Albatron has a solution that's far cheaper than any of those other options. The EM215 is expected to launch in a few weeks at Computex in... Read more...

Here's a company we haven't heard from in what feels like ages: Albatron. Said outfit has just announced its newest mainboard, the K3780E. As with most motherboards, this one also possesses a not-exactly-memorable name, and while the full press release reads more like broken English than anything else, here's what we've made out. The board supports AMD processors and features an AMD 780E North Bridge, built-in ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, hardware decoding, an AMD SB710 south bridge, four SATA II inputs and a single ATA 100 channel. The company assures us that it'll slip inside any Mini-ITX case,... Read more...

At NVISION ’08, multi-touch panels were lauded by Jen-Hsun Huang in his keynote speech as being one of the most exciting emerging technologies. Multi-Touch was demonstrated last year by Bill Gates using beta versions of Windows 7. And who could forget Tom Cruise dragging, wiping, and tapping away in Spielberg’s Sci-Fi classic, Minority... The CeBIT 2008 show is Germany's version of our CES, or Taiwan's Computex, only with a little wienerschnitzel thrown around and some Helles to wash it down; you get the idea.  As with many shows like these, lots of inside info is released and as yet announced products are often shown behind closed doors and sometimes even openly with a pause and a "oops" afterwards as if to say, they really didn't mean to do that.  In that vein this morning, Albatron steps up and tips their skirt in our general direction with this...    Though typically we would... Perhaps the only Mini-ITX AM2 motherboard on the planet at this time, the KI960-AM2 has a lot going for it other than a name that sounds like some top-secret military hardware. The board seems to have almost everything one could reasonably expect in such a small form factor and then some. Here's what Charlie from theinquirer.com had to say: "Albatron had the best mobo that I saw at CeBIT, bar none. It is called the KI960-AM2, a mini-ITX full featured AMD690 based AM2 board. There is nothing else like it here. In case you can't tell from the... Read more...

AGP7600GS uses an AGP 8x interface.... Read more...
You've seen 512MB on the cream of the crop graphics cards, but how about on a GeForce 6600? Well Albatron has made one, but as we've seen in reviews such as the 128MB Radeon 9800 Pro vs the 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro, more ram doesn't always give a large boost in performance. Will the extra memory help Albatron's 6600 compete against the GeForce 6600GT? "That's right, 512 MB of onboard memory on a midrange product! To accomplish this, Albatron shifted from the very familiar DDR3 graphics memory to DDR2. The core and memory speeds have also been dropped... Read more...
Albatron nForce4 K8SLI @ Bjorn3D: "Sometimes us reviewer tend to forget that not everyone have the money to buy one of the latest and fastest cards available. Instead of a GeForce 7800GT or GeForce 7800GTX many instead have opted for cheaper, but yet capable, GeForce 6600GT. But what if you have one of those and want to in a cheap way increase the graphics performance? NVIDIA has the solution with SLI. Pop in a second card and in theory get double the performance. Today I am looking at one of the cheaper SLI-capable motherboards on the market, the K8SLI from Albatron. " Dual Graphics... Read more...
