The rumor mill doesn't seem to rest for a single day lately. We learned yesterday that AMD will be releasing both 4GB and 8GB versions of its RX Vega graphics cards, and that it will also be releasing Vega for notebooks. Intel on Monday announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Mobileye, an Israeli technology company that develops vision-based advanced driver assistance systems providing warnings for collision prevention and mitigation. Combined with Intel's high performance computing solutions and expertise in connectivity, the Santa Clara chip maker envisions creating automated driving solutions from cloud to car. Qualcomm isn’t the only manufacturer looking to cut into Intel’s seemingly insurmountable lead in the server chip market. We’re also seeing a challenge from lesser known MACOM, which is employing an ARM chip design that promises high performance (particularly in regards to memory bandwidth) with incredible efficiency. It's hard to believe that we're mere days away from the official launching of AMD's first Ryzen processors. It's been a long wait, but an even longer one if you think back to a time when the world got this excited about a new CPU launch. That's been an easy request to fulfill as of late—forget about leaks on a weekly basis, we're starting to see unconfirmed reports crop up on an almost daily as we head into the homestretch of Ryzen's retail launch. With a little bit of luck, AMD will launch its Ryzen processor lineup on February 28 during its Capsaicin event at the 2017 Game Developers Conference (GDC) and put to rest all the rumors and speculation.
