iBuyPower Debuts Gamer Supreme 928i Desktop

Hot on the heels of our iBuyPower Gamer Paladin F970 evaluation comes this: the Gamer Supreme 928i. Said machine is decidedly mid-range in terms of price and specifications, and if you're jonesing for one, you'll have to point your browser to NewEgg.com, as that's the only e-tailer certified to sell it.

Strategically designed for the "recession-minded performance gamer" (their phrase, not ours), this beast comes loaded with an Intel Core i7 920 CPU, NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 285 1GB graphics card, 6GB of triple-channel DDR3-1333 memory and a 1TB SATA II hard drive. Of course, those needing even more power can take advantage of the multiple open PCIe slots for some of that SLI / CrossFireX goodness.

The full specs list is posted below, and it's available to order right now for the reasonable price of $1,299.

Gamer Supreme features an Intel Core i7920 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX – 285 GPU, and a 1TB Hard Disk Drive

El Monte, CA – April 16, 2009 – iBUYPOWER, one of the largest gaming system manufacturers in the world, is excited to team up with Newegg to release the powerful Gamer Supreme 928i.  The Gamer Supreme 928i was designed for the recession-minded performance gamer with superior power, massive storage capacity and smooth speedy graphics for the incredible price of just $1,299.

In testing, the Gamer Supreme 928i delivered a rock-solid average of 60 frames-per-second at a resolution of 1280x1024 while playing the system intensive World in Conflict on the Very High setting, using the game’s built-in benchmark mode.  The system features the latest in processing and graphics technology, with an Intel Core i-7 920 processor, NVIDIA GeFore GTX-285 1GB GPU ( the fastest single GPU solution), 6GB triple-channel DDR3-1333 Memory and a 1TB Serial – ATA-II hard drive.  The Gamer Supreme 928i is fully expandable with current-market parts and supports up to three video cards in SLI (or CrossfireX) mode.

“By partnering with Newegg we are able to offer our customers an outstanding system at an unbeatable value.” said Darren Su, Vice President of iBUYPOWER.  “It would be difficult to build a system as powerful as the Gamer Supreme 928i for anything close to $1,299, and when you factor in iBUYPOWER’s lifetime technical support you have an offering that cannot be matched.”

iBUYPOWER loaded the Gamer Supreme 928i into the tough silver ARMORX Gaming Case with blue lighting.  An 8-Channel audio system, 22X DL DVD+/-RW Drive, and an 800 Watt power supply are also included with the system.
