The God of Darkness Rises -- iBUYPOWER Announces Availability
Highly Anticipated EREBUS Gaming System

Proprietary case was designed to offer epic liquid cooling and overclocking abilities

El Monte, CA – May 18, 2011 – iBUYPOWER, a leading innovator in gaming PCs, is excited to announce the availability of its new flagship gaming desktop - Erebus.   Designed from the ground up by iBUYPOWER engineers specifically with liquid cooling and overclocking in mind, the Erebus embodies its namesake casting a dark shadow over the competition.

“After two years of hard work and we are proud to unveil this ground breaking system.” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER.  “Erebus’ custom built liquid cooling system will allow gamers to push the overclocking envelope, delivering unparalleled performance and creating the ultimate gaming experience.”

Four radiators (three 240mm “Dual” & one 480mm “Quad” radiator) and 13mm high flow tubing pump out 4.5 gallons per minute of cooling liquid to keep Erebus’ rugged steel chassis ice cold.  The smartly designed case creates a unidirectional air flow to help the cooling system reach a maximum rated heat dissipation of 3,400w of heat – more than the average home refrigerator, lighting, microwave and window unit air conditioner combined.  Compression fittings alleviate any concerns about leakage, and a front panel level meter combined with top panel reservoir access make maintenance a snap.

Erebus features the highest-quality components from Intel, ASUS, Koolance, Corsair and more to provide gamers with the experience of a lifetime.  The spacious case can house up to 6 hard drives, 4 video cards, 24GB of memory and features front panel USB 3.0, a card reader and eSATA.  Advanced profile lighting and professional wire management provide the case with a clean design worthy of a system of Erebus’ stature.  Top panel fins stealthily redirect noise and exhaust away from gamers, while the aluminum front panel provides a unique look only possible with custom liquid cooling.

The Erebus is available exclusively at www.iBUYPOWER.com and starts at $1,249.

That is a nice looking system with a lot of great options. The addition of liquid cooled video cards is great. I like the top vents, it reminds me of a toned down version of the area-51. It's nice to see a budget friendly company making some higher end machines too.

A bit of a preview about the Erebus a few months ago and now it's out and ready to config. going to have to wait a bit for some of the reviews and see how well it delivers.

Alright, I have questions. First, this is an awesome system for sure. I've been intrigued by water cooling system for a while and I plan on experimenting with it this year.

1. Isn't one of the main reason to go with water cooling to reduce the noise from cooling fans? Isn't it counter-productive then to have a water cooling system with 6 fans for the radiators?

2. I thought that air in the water cooling tube was a big no no... at 0:35 you can see a lot of air going around in there.

Nice case! Love the look. HH needs to review this with max config :) lol

@ Scoarie you are correct about more fans increasing noice but using 140mm fans as they have here minimises the whining one typically gets from a case loaded out with fans.

As a 6 year water cooler the pros far out weight the cons.

This is more PC than I'd ever need. It is a work of art though.

6 fans will increase noise levels, but if you use the proper fans, you can reduce the effect by a lot. The 120mm. fans that I use generate 68cfm of airflow while producing just 16dB of noise. As a result, my system is much quieter than it was before I swapped the fans.

When you buy fans on NewEgg, they have specifications posted for all of them to make it easy for you to pick quiet fans.

Thanks guys, makes a lot of sense.

While I can hear this, it's not all that loud. And it's very cool running.

Heh... wow... a half-dozen hard drives, four video cards AND 24GB of RAM... I would never need another computer...

With water cooling, or any liquid cooling for that matter, that would wind up doing better than my prior method of sealing my room and running the A/C on max (I managed a room temperature of just below freezing, believe it or not [29 degrees F])... Hell, I'll buy one!
