ZOTAC Introduces GeForce GT 520 Graphics Card

New GPU? Yes, please! NVIDIA's been on a roll here lately, pushing out one GPU after another in rapid succession. The company's latest is the GeForce GT 520, using one of NVIDIA's newest low/mid-range cores to provide a boost in power to those who aren't willing to pay for any of the hardcore cards that are tempting enthusiasts today. The new card has an 810MHz engine clock, 48 unified shaders, a 1620MHz shader clock, 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 64-bit memory interface and a trio of outputs: dual-link DVI, HDMI, and VGA.

It's a PCIe 2.0 card, and of course, supports of NVIDIA's fancy protocols (CUDA, PhysX, etc.). ZOTAC's Boost Premium software bundle is included, and while no price has been established just yet, we suspect it won't hurt the bank too badly.

So why are they naming these new gpu's gt 500 if they are lower than the gt 400 series?

Well they are cooler and have alot less energy than the 400 series. They are minor downgrade performance to 400 series counterparts. But they draw way less energy and in turn no longer run at max temp without a load. Allowing for much higher overclocks.

Like 550s can get a core clock of 1100 or higher. and memory clocks that are 30% higher than stock.

I have actually been thinking of grabbing something for a Physx card lately this might work. Of course I will need one of those motherboards that takes both types of cards to if I use the GPU I have now.
