Woz To Be a Contestant on Dancing With the Stars
ABC is billing "The Woz" as "a computer icon." He will be joining 12 other stars, including singer Belinda Carlisle from the 80's pop band the Go-Go's, comedian David Alan Grier, singer Jewel and her rodeo-star husband Ty Murray, actress Denise Richards, rapper Lil' Kim, and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. Each star gets a short bio on the Dancing With the Stars website; Wozniak's states:
"STEVE WOZNIAK -- A Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist for the past three decades, Steve Wozniak, a.k.a. The Woz, helped shape the computer industry with his design of Apple's first line of products, the Apple I and II, and influenced the popular Macintosh. After leaving Apple Computer Inc. in 1985, Wozniak was involved in various business and philanthropic ventures, focusing primarily on computer capabilities in schools and stressing hands-on learning and encouraging creativity for students. In 2000, he was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame and was awarded the prestigious Heinz Award for Technology, The Economy and Employment. Wozniak is also a published author with the release of his New York Times Best Selling autobiography, iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon, in September 2006."

This will not be Wozniak's first brush with the limelight. He appeared several times on comedian Kathy Griffin's TV show, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, as Griffin's boyfriend. Wozniak has also appeared in a series of tongue-in-cheek online videos for Scottevest. But the real question everyone is asking now that his appearance on Dancing With the Stars has been confirmed, is can he really dance? We'll find out soon enough... There will probably be more nerds, geeks, and Apple fanboys watching Dancing With the Stars on March 9 than have ever watched the show before. Will we be watching? Yes, of course we will!
