I rock xp on the box and 7 on my notebook. I have a copy of 7 for my box but have been to lazy to install it. |
XP is EoL so it is important for corporations to begin to upgrade their systems and this is the main reason why 7 Is taking over. |
Win 7 ROCKS. |
Mr. Lilly, do you see the problem here? "According to analytics firm StatCounter, Windows XP is no longer the most used desktop OS IN THE WORLD. [emphasis mine]... On a global scale, Windows 7 holds a 31.17 percent of the market, while XP still enjoys a sizable lead with a 46.87 percent share." |
Eh, I'm using Windows 7 and I don't care as much if they're dominating the OS market with their Windows system. It works for what I need, hell I'm using it right now! |
That should read "in the U.S." |
I have used 7 almost exclusively since BETA 1 quite some time ago. I also got a copy when they were doing the student discount. So it is on my PC, but Sarah still uses XP on her PC because she likes it. With our family though the only one who uses XP alone is my 4 year old Rhiannon. Sarah is on my PC a lot when Rhiannon is on the computer. So Sarah mainly uses 7 when she is home to, and I have to go watch TV:( |
Microsoft definitely made an improvement after their terrible flop of vista. 7 is definitely quality. |
If it wasn't for HH and my win on a new board and gpu, i would of never got to installing my copy of windows 7 xD. Too lazy xD. |
I use Win 7 on most of my machines. My only complaint is that it has really bogged down my media center PC. That machine just doesn't run as smoothly on Win 7 as it did on XP. For daily use I really like some of the Win 7 features (snap, consolidated taskbar, etc). And no, I'm not trying to sound like the Microsoft commercial :-P |
Had windows 7 betas and RC and since then never went back to xp I actually got windows 7 b4 it was released because im a college student every PC in my house is running windows 7 :) |
This is barely an accomplishment, their more tied and at the same level. I think majority needs to be decided in a place value in the 1's or 10's not, hundreds or fractions of a single digit. Allthough I'm undoubtedly confident Windows 7 will take that majority by a significant amount sooner than later |
I still use Windows XP Professinal Service Pack 3 on my laptop and my main PC. I will move to Windows 7 when i'm ready to build new pc for myself. I really like Windows 7 because it look nice and flawless. I'm glad that i decided to skipped Windows Vista because I heard about many problems with all stuff on Vista. I'm sure Window 7 suit me better over XP. |

Windows 7 is just like Vista rehashed. Full of gimmicks and fancy tricks. Aero Snap? There's a far better version in XP called Tile Horizontally or Tile Vertically that isn't limited to arranging just two windows but any number you select. There are many good useful features of XP removed and broken in Windows 7. The file manager, Windows Explorer was utterly destroyed in Vista and becomes worse in Windows 7. Poor usability. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_features_removed_in_Windows_7 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_features_removed_in_Windows_Vista . Unnecessary GUI changes. Vista was innonative but horrible usability wise and removed things. Windows 7 is Vista with few new features and again many features removed and fancy gimmicks and shiny graphics added. |
Seriously? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Features_new_to_Windows_Vista http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Features_new_to_Windows_7 Every version of windows removes some features and adds others. |
We are in the middle of an xp to 7 conversion in my office and the machines that haven't had to be upgraded perform much better on 7. I started a xp to vista conversion at another company a couple of years ago and it was horrible. So far this has gone pretty smoothly. At home I have 7 on my PC and I really like it. I am going to build a budget gaming PC for my sister soon which I would really like to put 7 on as well. |
Windows 7 is a must for DX11. |
I'm running 7 pro on my desktop, and 7 home on my netbook. Both systems run fine. I really like Windows 7, too bad Microsoft didn't just wait till they had things figured out and skip Vista altogether, like most of us did. |
Windows 7 FTW. |
I've got retail boxed XP's,Vista's & Windows 7,but if they treated XP the same as they did windows 7 with direct x 11 & so on,then I would be a happier man. |

It may be pretty interesting to see how the overall US percentages change in even the next 6 months and end of year .especially with the new SB laptops |
