Ya, Sorry but I just don't believe that this isn't a ploy to get more email addresses :S Yikes! lol |
Yes who created this widget? is it form a legitimate security firm or did the lulz create it. |
Enter my email on a program released by an anonymous source that assures us they are on the up and up? This is Maximum Trolling at it's finest. |
Nah, you misunderstand, this is just a widget to have your email sent to HotHardware's parent company so they can spam you Viagra ads. :D |
Here is a better way to check: http://dazzlepod.com/lulzsec/ It's just a searchable database and you don't even have to put in your whole address. So if your email is "manduh@something.com" you can just search manduh and it will give you a list with all the emails containing manduh. (ps, my email doesn't have manduh in it lol) I wouldn't ever trust any thing you have to put your email into when it comes to these hacking groups :S |
Hey, you never know. it can be legit, you just won't know till they tell you :P |
Might be legit AND take save your email address. |
Well... Checked both sites, looks like I'm in the clear. Unless I fell for a cleverly placed LulzSec trap... |
The site linked by Manduh does not require you to search with your full email address. |
thanks for the links Manduh and ran a few more all AOK as it should be ...yep no need to enter full email addy s as a community we can easily watch out for one another and of course share with others. |
well looks like im clear, until they actually hack a site i go too. |
Sure, the app might not be from hackers, but what if it gets hacked. It wouldn't be the first one. Remember how the PSN change password thing was hacked? They got people's old passwords and could change it to whatever they wanted. |
Looks like I'm good. Thanks for the link Manduh. |
You're very welcome :D |
Hopefully the Lulz aren't laughing at those of us who entered our addresses into these sites. Though it is only an e-mail address can't do much with that other than spam the crap out of us. Combined with other information though is a whole different story though. |
You don't need to put your whole address in the one I posted :S |
...in the meantime It's not at all surprising to encounter folks that have relatively weak passwords and continue to practice bad passwords habits. |
Oh well I was hoping for 15 mins of fame. Hoping to find myself on the web. Goggle does know who I am either . |
Looks like I'm in the clear. |

Professionals in the United Kingdom, in conjunction with international police agencies, have arrested a supposed member of the hacker group that performed the Sony Playstation Network hack. The 19-year-old with connections to “hacktivist” group LulzSec was put into custody at his home in Wickford, outside of London. He was detained on suspicion of computer crimes to Scotland Yard. I found this here: Accused member of hacker group LulzSec arrested in UK |

Their twitter feed says the guy arrested isn't a part of them |
