WWDC 2011 Tix Being Scalped at eBay

WWDC 2011 Tix Being Scalped at eBay

WWDC 2011 sold out in hours. That said, you might expect to see some eBay scalping, and you'd be right.

At the time of this writing, there are 9 auctions for WWDC tickets on eBay. To be clear, the official price for a single ticket was $1,500.

One auction has a bid of $1,100, with a BuyItNow price of $3,900. Ah, but there's free shipping. Another is at $1,725, with a BIN price of $4,599, but once again with free shipping.

Among the others which have bids are ones with bids of $2,125; $3,000; and $3,250.

Before anyone assumes that Apple will step in to halt these auctions, it doesn't appear that will be the case. A number of auctions have completed, including this one for $3,550.

We haven't looked at Craigslist, but it would be interesting to see what's going on there.

Man, I'm betting this WWDC 2011 will be the best WWDC yet.

I heard they'll be testing a new reality distortion field which will bring everyone within it's presence into another phase entirely. I don't know what it'll look like but I'll assume that it'll be glorious beyond Apple fanboys comprehension and I'm guessing it'll be called "iReality".

I'm guessing that's why the tickets for WWDC 2011 are worth more then an iPhone or even an iMac. Seriously I hope the people who payed thousands for those tickets at least get their money worths, the sellers who are selling these tickets included.

Just wow, first it must be nice to have that kind of money to blow. 2nd the fact that the tickets cost $1500 normally seems a bit ridiculous and that people are getting twice their value just goes to show how many suckers are in this world.

How many seats are there at the venue? And do they give out free tickets to awesome hardware sites? cough cough.....

Is a keynote speech about the new os's really worth 1500?

Yeah, but you also have to wonder if at least some of these are being sold by iSheep after the announcements, that seemingly popped up right after these tickets were bought. Of course the fact that nothing new but Lion is supposed to be released at the conference, and compared to last years as well as for the two years prior it has been all about the iPhone most likely plays into this somewhat.

Of course someone is obviously buying these overpriced tickets at double the price to so take that as you may this conference at least to me seems like an immense let down for $2, much less 1500, or even 3000+!

The way the Apple market works extends to ticket's for Apple events too. How foolish to think that something in the Apple universe would be affordable.

Only with Apple....

Seriously, though, who has $1,500+ to spend just to watch a keynote in person?

Rich people and most middle class people I'm guessing?

Oops! Surprise I thought that I was middle class,....and I certainly can't afford to go. (nor do I want to) I guess it's a matter of priorities.
