Voyager Mobile: A New Contract-Free Carrier

What if your mobile carrier were a company you actually trusted and liked? Most folks in the U.S.A. would scoff at such a notion, but we can't fault newcomer Voyager Mobile for trying something radically different. The company has announced a new MVNO plan that'll run on Sprint's nationwide network, with unlimited wireless plans starting at $19 per month -- "no contracts, credit checks, or gimmicks." Sounds like a familiar tune, for sure, but the real kicker is the launch of Voyager Rewards. It's a frequent talker program, which claims that "simply talking on the phone will reward you with points, which can be redeemed for airline miles, gift cards, phone upgrades, and free monthly service." The company is based in Knoxville, Tennessee but will obviously serve the whole nation; though, initially, it's rolling out "in select states."
