Waiting for official, non-TechNet, non-MSDN access to Windows Vista SP2? Well, you can now download it.

Remember, this is a combined service pack for both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. Service Pack 1 is a prerequisite for installing Service Pack 2.

Highlights of the changes, many of which have already been delivered separately, include:
  • Windows Search 4.0 for faster and improved relevancy in searches
  • Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack supporting the most recent specification for Bluetooth Technology
  • Ability to record data on to Blu-Ray media natively in Windows Vista
  • Adds Windows Connect Now (WCN) to simplify Wi-Fi Configuration
  • Windows Vista SP2 enables the exFAT file system to support UTC timestamps, which allows correct file synchronization across time zones.

I might load the 64bit sp2 on my Rig and teat it out worse case scenario just have to reload but who knows might increase performance and xtra compatability!

 Thats funny BOB you loaded on you wifes computer first! LOL Thats what I would do if it crashes at least you still got yours running! LOL

My 1st attempt failed trying again CRC error 080070017 or something like that but Im hardheaded Im working on it now!

Well I corrected my problem! Got it to load seems to be doing fine!

how did you correct the CRC error 080070017?? I'm getting the same error and I've been trying 5-6 times to get sp2 to install but have been not able to!

And to answer my own question, I have resolved my issue.  what i did was run CHKDSK on the C: drive, and this enable SP2 to install.

Im sorry chausie I have been out going to the doctor and paying bills so I just got around to the computer but the answer is the same as yours run CHKDSK! Soory I coulnt get to you sooner!
