Verizon Wireless Shows Off Droid 4 And Upcoming Tablets

We've already heard about the upcoming Droid 4 smartphone, though we're still waiting on an official announcement from Motorola or Verizon Wireless. We have also heard rumblings around the web about various Xoom tablet successors. Here again, we're still waiting on an official announcement. The lack of any announcements hasn't stopped Verizon Wireless from showing off some of its upcoming goods, however.

Recently, Verizon Wireless showed the Motorola Droid 4 and two Xoom tablet successors to CNET. The rumored specs and details seem to line up nicely with what was revealed to CNET. As expected, the Droid 4 will be essentially the same phone as the Droid Razr but with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. This phone could launch as early as next week. Key features include a 4-inch qHD display, Android 2.3.5, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and 4G LTE capabilities.

The two new successors to the Motorola Xoom tablet have been referred to as “Xyboard” tablets. Both of these tablets are expected to feature a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. These tablets are said to be thinner than an AAA battery and lighter than a paperback book. One model will feature a 10.1-inch display while the other will offer a slightly smaller 8.2-inch display.
