Valve said that it was
launching a spate of non-gaming software titles on its hugely popular cloud gaming service
Steam, and today the company made good on its promise by introducing six of them.
In a press release, Valve stated that “many of the launch titles will
take advantage of popular Steamworks features such as easy installation,
automatic updating, and the ability to save your work to your personal
Steam Cloud space so your files may travel with you.”
The new titles include:
ArtRage Studio Pro
CameraBag 2
GameMaker: Studio
3D-Coat
3DMark Vantage
3DMark 11
No, it's not an overwhelmingly impressive lineup, but Valve will no doubt continue to populate its software lineup by and by.
Prices range from free (for GameMaker: Studio) to $99 for the 3D-Coat animation and modeling program. To celebrate the grand opening, Valve is offering the software at a 10% discount until next Tuesday, so get ‘em while they’re hot.
