Toshiba to Replace Sony Batteries

First it was Dell and then Apple; now, Toshiba has jumped on the bandwagon and is replacing 340,000 Sony batteries from their Dynabook and Dynabook Satellite line of notebooks. Surprisingly enough, Toshiba indicated that the batteries in question would not catch fire, unlike reports that have come from Dell and Apple users.  Batteries manufactured between March and May are affected and users should contact Toshiba for a replacement.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Toshiba Corp. (6502.T) said on Tuesday it would replace about 340,000 laptop computer batteries made by Sony Corp. (6758.T) worldwide, the latest in a string of Sony battery woes.
