No matter how you slice it, everyone needs a slice of solid state storage. At least that's how we see it. And that includes the enterprise, or consumers who need ultra reliable goods for continual or business-related use. Super Talent knows it as well, and has today introduced the 2.5" ShuttleCraft SSD to meet the needs of those in the enterprise.
It's a new line of SAS drives (Serial Attached SCSI), which means that you'll need a special interface just to work with these guys. SAS features key benefits required by enterprise servers including: high performance, strong reliability and advanced management features.
The ShuttleCraft S will be available using SLC flash in 60GB and 120GB capacities, and the ShuttleCraft M will be available using MLC flash to achieve 120GB and 240GB capacities. Be warned, though, because these drives won't definitely fit into each and every 2.5" drive bay due to the size. No prices are being talked about in public, but that's probably in order to not scare about the general public who can't take advantage of SAS to begin with.
