Steam Slashes Prices, Offers Killer Holiday Deals

If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping or need a few virtual stocking stuffers, Steam's massive holiday sale may contain exactly what you're looking for. There are a number of excellent titles offered at anywhere from 30-70 percent off, including recent games.

Have you ever gotten so angry...you started swinging someone else's arm?

Examples include: Defense Grid ($2.99), Resident Evil 5 ($10.20), BioShock 2 ($9.99), and The Witcher ($5.00). There are also a number of publisher-specific bundles:  Bethesda is selling Call of Cthulu, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Rogue Warrior, Morrowind, and Oblivion for just $42.45. Steam's deals are changing day to day--if you don't see titles that catch your fancy today, check back a day later.

I saw Bad Company 2 was being sold for 6.67! Add another 15 for the expansion and you have yourself one of the best dx11 fps games out there.

I cried a little as I purchased this game over the summer.

DON'T MISS THIS:

Speaking of Steam - The HumbleIndieBundle2, where you get to name your own price, also provides you with a Steam code (and a Desura code) when you buy.

Or, you can also download the games (DRM free) directly from the page whose URL they e-mail you after you buy. You can download multiple versions: All the games are available for Windows, Linux, and Mac.

I bought it (even though I already owned Osmos) and the games are great!

I'm tempted for supreme commander 2, but we'll see if I really want it.  I have some time to decide.  Also, I'm not really sure what else they really have to offer seeing as how everything seems to be on sale.

Nice post 3vi1, I might nab that deal.

The prices are very good! Hopefully this will be the future of gaming! Although I still like to go to the store and buy a box with some cool art on it :)

Or are they just trying to make sure everyone in the future is a shut in who never has to leave the house :O

A nice mix of both would be good!

I like it too.  Black Friday was a field day with me.  I'm just not sure how much the developers get, if its the same ratio as for a store box, or better, then I think it's great.  I'm sure 3vi1 will reply back with some statistics or an article if he reads this.

and the UK wants to ban or harass publishers that use this wonderful program and interface...

The HumbleIndieBundle2 is still on sale for about another day, and now as a bonus, if you pay more than the average (currently $7.72) - they give you the first HumbleIndieBundle (6 more games) free!

It's a great way to contribute to Childs Play, the EFF, and these indie developers - so check it out if you haven't already: http://www.humblebundle.com/

BTW: The give you a completely separate Steam code to activate the first HumbleIndieBundle, so if you already bought it (and therefore already had received an activation code) you can give the new code to a friend!

Steam has awesome deals right now. Most of the big publishers have massive collections at fantastic prices. Definitely worth a look at least, I spent awhile looking through them just because they were great deals- I didn't even intend to get anything.
