Skype For iPad On The Way, According To Leaked Video

Could it be true? Is Skype going to beat Facebook to the punch? Both of these high-profile apps have become somewhat infamous for not having official iPad apps yet, but it looks like Skype may on their way to winning the war out of the basement. Based on a leaked video, it looks like Skype has an app ready to rock on the larger iOS platform (there's already an iPhone version), and if this proves true, avid users of Skype will no longer have to 'double' the iPhone version on their iPad to actually use it.

What's more, we can hope that there's a video chat angle on the way as well, and perhaps the contacts page will be a bit more robust with all of that extra screen real estate. There's still no solid word on a release date, but at least it's evidently in the final stages. Have a look at the video if you'd like to get yourself worked into a tizzy.

I thought this was already out.

Wonder why it has taken so long?

About time that that Skype comes to iOS though I too thought this was already available.

About time they did. Cell phone carriers will be worried that skype is going to bring down minutes usage on their network...it also means more bandwidth getting used.

Skype is already available for the iPhone. It does allow you to do video chats...similar to FaceTime. There just isn't an official iPad app...yet. Will be downloading this once it officially releases!!!

Skype is fantastic. I love google talk and voice, but the company I work for wont use them. It is convenient mainly because I don't want to pay for texting on top of my data plan, something else they wont cover, but want us to use, lol. I have used skype to call friends and have them teach me how to use a progam over nights or finish projects... I'm hoping they allow video chat sometime on the iPhone. Still holding out with the unlimited plan.
