Sharkoon Releases 2-in-1 SATA QuickPort Internal Tray

Being able to easily swap drives in and out of a system without fiddling with cables is utterly convenient, especially if you swap out drives frequently, and Sharkoon has a new 2-in-1 SATA QuickPort product to make it even easier.

The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Intern Multi is a mouthful to say, but it appears laden with features. The device fits into a 5.25-inch drive bay (making it ideal for expansion) and can accommodate two drives at the same time. Each drive--a 2.5-inch SSD or HDD and a 3.5-inch HDD--has its own SATA connections, so both installed drives can work simultaneously.

The SATA QuickPort Intern Multi has an on/off switch on the front faceplate, which is also equipped with a pair of USB 3.0 ports; it supports SATA 6Gbps and earlier SATA versions. The device has an suggested retail price of 34.99 euros.

Any particular reason the price is in euro's as opposed to , oh i dont know dollars? :) just wondering. Any ways the ability to hold both is really interesting, plus the quick change capability makes this really an easy and simple piece of equipment, it works with both kinds and its cable free. Just to Clarify it can run both the SSD and the HDD at the same time?

That's pretty neat! I do this so seldom that I can get by with my USB adapter, but If I saw this at Fry's I'm not sure I could resist the impulse-buy.

AKnudson: It can run a 2.5 SSD and a 3.5 HDD but not a 2.5 SSD and a 2.5 HDD with out a conversion.

I wouldn't mind to have one installed for anything handy :D

Looks pretty nice, was just looking for a Sata III 5.25" bay dock, think I'll have to wait on this instead, the extra USB 3 ports are nice. Also found a Thermaltake version with exactly the same features ie: 2.5" / 3.5" and USB 3 but it is not available yet either. Your move guys, release the damn product and take my money!
