This isn't good at all. Although not quite up to par clock-for-clock in most things, the Phenoms are good competition for cheaper quad-core. In a couple games, it's even better than Intel's at the same clock. Dang yo. |

man this is depressing. I'm trying to upgrade and am hoping to stick with AMD (especially with the uprade prospects of going AM+) but with the new 45nm intel duos coming out in the same/lower price range, being faster, and cooler running then AMD's offerings i may have to reconsider here. well i'll still wait to see what the market is like after the nforce 780a comes out so hopefully AMD will step up in the next couple of months : / |

now that i have the money to go full amd on my new upgrade (from an athlonxp system) i am delayed in getting the new quad 2.6 which is what i will want to get |

I'm not surprised, is it honestly so hard for AMD to just give a more realistic timeline? They heavily delayed phenom, gave empty promises on performance numbers, and are now giving us the same thing with higher clocked phenoms. If they atleast just spoke honestly, atleast they would retain some respect. If AMD doesn't get some higher clocked models out quick, I don't see how they are going to make money when Nehalem comes around. |
