Razer Says It's Busting Its Rump to Atone for Tiamat Headset Delay
Dear Community,Razer's been on a bit of rough patch lately in terms of shipping out product on time. In December 2011, Razer announced a last minute storage upgrade to its Blade laptop, swapping out the 320GB hard drive in favor of a 256GB solid state drive, causing the company to delay the release by a month. Razer gave Blade buyers a free Orochi Blade Edition mouse for their trouble, and in this case, the company's offering a free t-shirt and flask to make up for the delay, provided you mash the Notify Me button.
In December we said, 'the Razer Tiamat will be available around the end of January 2012.' Well, the end of January has arrived and the cold, hard truth is that it is not ready, and our estimations were off.
This is the last thing we want to tell you, especially since so many of you have been patiently waiting. Understandably you are bummed, and so are we. We feel our relentless pursuit of quality, and our refusal to ship a 'good enough' product will pay off when you plug in your pair and hear them for the first time. We do not take delays lightly, and you can bet your ass we are busting ours to make this product perfect.

There are going to be two versions of the Tiamat, the $100 Tiamat 2.2 with four drivers (two of them are subwoofers), and the $180 Tiamat 7.1, which Razer claims is the world's first true 7.1 surround sound headset. You can find more information about both of these here.

I enjoy all of the Razer products I have and they are offering free gear to ease consumers. True 7.1 Surround does sound pretty interesting, I might have to grab a pair. |

Razer calls it self a cult following because thats typically how technology/computer enthusiasts are with their preferred brand, and the last thing anyone wants to upset is a cult, especially not their own followers haha Personally I'm happy and impressed by the model Razer (and Apple for that matter) sets for other companies that what matters most is a quality product, not a release date. Even though sticking to your word carries alot of weight its excused in this case and its not like they weren't trying too , PLUS their making up for it with some goodies and a discount Way to go Razer, this is why this comment is being typed on a Razer Keyboard and why every article I click on HotHardware is done with a Razer mouse |

I am sure this product with rock our socks off when it is released and the free gear is certainly nice if one were to purchase these. The price is going to be high so the extras might ease the burden. |

I like that they will not ship parts that are not ~really~ ready for prime time. It shows that the 'Bean Counters' do not run the show at Razer. |

I was always super excited about Razer products and loved mine.. whilst they worked. My Razer Carcharias headset, for example, lasted a month until the mic stopped working. It needs a +30db boost to operate correctly, and with a boost of that magnitude, you get a hell of a lot of static and background noise. Razer have accepted it's defective, but expect me to pay shipping back to them for a replacement. Am I being stubborn by refusing to pay? |

I commend what Razer has been doing for its customers when such SNAFUs happen. Free stuff is awesome! It drives fan loyalty and markets its reputation as a respectable brand to potential customers/fans. |

True 7.1 on a headset and under $200, man when I first saw this on Razer Facebook page I went nuts. Can't wait till it finally comes out, if it gets rave reviews, Razer has a customer right here. |
