RadioShack Shows It's Not So Good with Handset Platforms

RadioShack has lost ground to Best Buy, and even Wal-mart and Target, and based on their technical expertise as demonstrated by this ad, it's no wonder why.

The ad, which came via an email, says buyers should "Make It an Android." However, the fact is that the Nokia Astound is a Symbian 3 device. At least the HTC Evo 4G and HTC Evo Shift 4G are Android devices. The Evo 4G even recently received an upgrade to Gingerbread.

Radio shack always finds ways to make themselves look stupid, and i agree with prime 100%

This is just a blooper reel.

I'm still one of the ones who still considers going to RadioShack; they do have some stuff that Best Buy doesn't carry and some higher quality equipment.

Simple mistake. Funny, but certainly doesn't deserve all that optimus hate because of it.

RadioShack certainly has there place. Whenever I need a connector of some sort they have it and BB, Walmart, and Target would not even think to carry them. Though I rarely buy full blown electronics from them. Typically it is just adapters, replacement parts etc. Plus they recycle most Lithium Ion batteries.

About a year and a half ago two capacitors on the power board of my Samsung HDTV popped, and I had to solder new ones in. The ONE time I went to RadioShack in the last 10 years, and of course, they didn't have decent solder or the right capacitors, so I ended up ordering them online. Ah, for the days when every town had at least one decent electronics outlet.

I personally still buy stuff though not regularly from the shack. I currently have some cable's I picked up there, and a in car power inversion unit that has run great for over a year now. It also was cheaper than is generally the truth for them, and has a cigarette adapter, a USB adapter, and a straight power plug socket and therefore will charge three devices at a time easily from one lighter plug in, in any vehicle.

While the shack does have screw ups in advertising it is still a useful place when needed to me for sure. They are everywhere and there prices are generally comparable if not the best.

I still claim RadioShack is only good for eMachines and jumbo digit phones. Sorry to be harsh but I also refuse to go to best buy, they are just too overpriced. If I don't buy online I shop at frys electronics. They are amazing if you have one anywhere near you.

Wish I had a Fry's around me... The only competitor to BB around me was Circuit city before they went out of business. Thank god I have online shopping.I have to agree they are not good for full electronics but around me they are the only place to find small parts without paying 3 times the amount because of shipping.

LOL... Radioshack. I love it.

You don't get much better support when you walk in the store either. But I do have to hand it to them for selling Sprint phones without a mailin rebate. And for getting the EVO shift first... Which is  why I bought that phone for my wife at Radio Shack.

Have you seen the prices at the Shack! That alone is enough to show how stupid they are!

Much less, when you go in with a question like where can I find 1.5amp transformers, and they show you to the toys isle and the bumblebee tape rewinder!

Fry's has surpassed them a long time ago for anything electronic!

You guys are missing it. They aren't trying to say that the Nokia is an Android phone, they're just recommending the HTCs over the Nokia. lol :D
