Puget Systems Now Shipping Corrected Sandy Bridge Systems

Just for the sake of completeness, we felt it important to mention that Puget Systems -- one of the smaller system builders out there -- is also shipping corrected Sandy Bridge PCs now. At this point, we'd be surprised if your favorite PC maker wasn't shipping the new kit. Intel's Sandy Bridge snafu seems to be almost over, and that's great news for everyone. The first revision of Sandy Bridge chipsets suffered from a design flaw that caused performance degradation over time on 3Gb/s SATA ports. Puget Systems posted a response to the issue, providing options to circumvent the flaw, or wait for the correction. The new chipset revision corrects this design flaw.

The new B3 chipset will ship on the Echo, Deluge, Obsidian, Serenity, and Sprit desktops starting today, so if you've been holding out, now's the time for that to end.
