I know someone who bought a new computer last month with the GT 220 (it was available in PCs before individual cards). It was a huuuge improvement over his old GeForce FX 5900. Performance benchmarks put it faster than the 9500GT DDR3 and 4650 DDR2 but slower than the 4670 and 9600GSO. It's probably around 4650 DDR3 performance? For the price these things are not worth it. But it works great for my friend's new PC (he mostly console games, so this is a good performer for the occasional PC gaming he does). GT 210 is gutter trash, however. Radeon 4550 is a better choice. |

I'm even surprised that the GT220 performed as well as you say it does. Usually the x200 model in graphics cards is reserved for on board/minimal graphics such as the GeForce 8200 or ATI 3200. Fully agree that it's a good novice solution (and we may the GT 220 card being bundled up with most budget systems soon). Better to shell out an extra $50 and get something much, much better. |

What you spend on Video performance you will receive back double. If you don't spend anything then that's what you'll get. nothing GPU power is just as or more important than CPU power. |
