Looks promising. Anyone know of anyone who has bought one of these OCZ whitebooks? I can't recall even seeing reviews of the first OCZ whitebook...hmmm....

They've had a lesser 15.4" for a while but I still can't find where to buy one of these 17" beauty's. Hopefully it will pop up on the retail channel soon. They have the 15.'s at Zipzoomfly but it's definitely a lesser sibling to this one ddr2 667 8600gt etc.

Don't know much about gaming laptops and prices, but it doesn't seem to bad of a value.

What are the parts you were planning on getting for you new desktop build?

I was going 48X core 2 quad Q9450 Zerotherm NV120 cpu cooler ATI 4870 or 4870x2 w/Artic Cooling Accels1 rev2 4 gigs ddr3 1800 Hyper 880 psu probably the MSI platinum mb 3 seagate 32mb cache 500gb in raid 5 and a full tower probably antec 1200 but been looking at a few oh and a pci xpress soundcard

But I am thinking about just keeping my current desktop which is'nt very current but still works fine for now. Then getting a laptop I am thinking about going back to school. I can do the schooling all internet based so all my books lectures testing etc would be over the net so mobility would be at a premium. I'm thinking about grabbing one of those new gateway ddr3 laptops when they drop at bestbuy. It will be a couple hundred less and meet my current needs better. Although it won't quite have the capabilities of the desktop I can do that part by part over time. To tell you the truth with the Larabee coming out very soon and AMD keeps letting out new stuff just as constant in the CPU and chipset market, it may not be the best time to move on a desktop now unless you have to. Because by next winter/spring I think were going to be on new chipsets all the way around.

Looks pretty cool....

While the spec's are nice, I am surpriced that they used the image from the OCZ branded Compal JFL92. They should have used a more representative image.

Thanks, I came across that avatar somewhere and have been using it ever since.

The spec's released for the notebook don't match up the image. That image is from a prior launch of the SRR (Santa Rosa Refresh) JFL92. They are publishing spec's for something that they don't even have pictures of yet.

BS I love ocz but can't get that whitebook anywhere. Beleive me I tried I even emailed there customer service trying to find it They could give me no direct links at. No one to call nothing she just emailed me back saying it was available through all there distributors which is BS anyway. I never found it anywhere although I have found several from compal MSi and a few other distributors. Makes me mad though I love OCZ hardware it is usually very solid competitive equipment I'd love to get this 17" whitebook. But OCZ seems to have failed us for now :(
