This is great news and definitely a long time coming. |
I've been hoping to see what SLI could do on an AMD motherboard. Let's see if that and bulldozer is a side of burger and fries. |
AMD and Nvidia ...Ahhhhh the good ol days... & gonna be coming soon for some good ol' AMD Nvidia Nirvana hey now wait a minute still got a classic AMD XP 2200+ 7600 GS and guess what ? with 2GB ram running a custom linux install ultra lite desktop ultra lite custom kernel and playing some classics like Prey Penumbra Windows 7 Portal and half Life 2 etc some snappy daily stuff all in a LianLI PC 7 it's still a blast def gonna watching again for this AMD Nvidia sweeeetness |
Nice to see them back working together again, but the intel chipsets twards the end of the Nvidia ones were buch better then the Nvidia chipsets were |
am I excited about the new license? Hell yeah i am! unfortunately now I need to decide to go SB or wait until bulldozer to build a new rig =/ |
Hmm.. could it be that Bulldozer is all that and a side of fries? :) |
And a milkshake too :) |
Hmm, could it be that you already know the answer to that question? Could Intel's recent release of the Z67 Chipset and it's cool capabilities be prompted by what may be on AMD's horizon? While this is a good time to be considering a build, just waiting a little while could have amazing rewards, right Dave? As to this SLI announcement, I want to be able to mix an AMD card with a NVIDIA card in the same computer, and use the best features of both of them, without Lucid technology getting into the mix. Do That.

I honestly thought it was the other way around, and that AMD was the one not wanting to license Sli on their motherboards. |
I used to wonder to myself why I would always see Nvidia with Intel and AMD with ATI. This just sounds awesome especially since I am looking to do my first custom build when I have some extra cash. :) |
This is awesome news, especially with bulldozer on the horizon! |
Wow this is great news. One of the things that makes intel so attractive right now is the future expandability of sli or crossfire.
This is also a big reason to upgrade to 900 series chipsets, rather than running a BD cpu on one of the current 800 series with a bios update |
SLI capability's an important lifespan feature for sure, this is win-win for nVidia and AMD, adding value to future AMD mobos and making nVidia GPUs a stronger choice for that first PCIe slot. Makes you wonder why they didn't think of this earlier. |
certainly about time. Was seriously considering makin' the jump to Intel if AMD didn't make it possible for SLi very soon. Lookin' to build a new puter.......now I will wait it a bit for the new motherboards to be released. GREAT NEWS FOR LONG TIME AMD~~nVidia fans. |
