NetZero Offers Free Mobile Broadband, With Limits

Do you remember NetZero, the company that offered free dial-up Internet service years ago? The company recently announced some new 4G mobile broadband plans that operate using Clear's 4G coverage. Of course, there are limits to what you can get for free.

NetZero offers five plans from which to choose. The Free plan limits you to 200MB of data. Keep in mind you could potentially burn through that limit in a matter of seconds. Of course, you can also pay for additional data. For about $10 per month, you'll get 500MB. Plans scale up from there, with the Platinum plan offering 4GB of data for about $50 per month.

In order to use any of the NetZero plans including the Free plan, you'll need to purchase a NetZero 4G Mobile Broadband device. Currently, NetZero offers a hot-spot router and a USB modem. The NetZero4G Stick costs $49.95 while the NetZero4G Hotspot runs $99.95. In the fine print, NetZero explains the Free plan expires twelve months from the date of initial registration and it cannot be renewed.
