"N-Word" Shows Up in Computerized Typing Program
A woman was stunned and a software company apologetic after an offensive word showed up on a computerized typing test. Monica Loadholdt was using Perfect Typing Pro, a software program made by Cosmi, when the 'N word' showed up in one of the typing exercises.
"I just stopped," Monica remembers. "I said, 'What did I just type here?'"
Let's make sure we type this carefully: O-O-P-S.

That would be the "N" word, a term used by the uneducated to describe those of an Afro-American heritage. When by using that word aren't denegrating any one but themselves and showing their ignorance. |

If that was the case though, same would happen to disney. Have you guys seen the titles with the provocative moments? There are quite a few disney titles with sexual segments implemented into them...These artists are working in like a sweat shop environment. Not necessarily a sweat shop, but they sit their for hours upon hours and draw...They get bored..and this is the result =P.. Same has happened with this typing program, although I find the typing program more offensive then the disney ones, the disney ones are just flat out hillarious. |

Even if you are bored/racist/stupid there really is no excuse for it -- its not subliminal at ALL so you have a 100% chance of getting caught and subsequently a 100% chance of losing your job.....all in all the programmer(s) was/were just ridiculously stupid in the matter. Here I thought commercial programmers generally were extremely intelligant! |

If the "N-Word" in question was in fact capitalized it was referring to the African nation of Niger, otherwise it was indeed a racist insult. More than likely this was a simple misunderstanding because as explained by Miss Teen South Carolina, “some people out there in our nation don’t have maps.” I’m sure in due time a political organization will be formed to convince the aforementioned African nation to change its name to something less offensive ;) |

Hahahhaah, a lot of my local radio stations have been making fun of this over and over -- I am pretty sure its one of the funniest things I have heard (I feel embarrassed for her) |
I am really against name calling..It's just not in my character, but just by the way she was talking you could really tell she was a ditz...like..omg..totally. -_-...lol. |

I think the reactions of people that make things like this seem like the end of the world are funnier than the act itself. I am assuming whoever put that word into the program intended it to be a joke. Inappropriate yes, but nothing to get so worked up about. I wouldn't be surprised if this brings about yet another frivolous lawsuit. |

I'm with AjayD on this one. Also, considering the fact that this hasn't come up before, it probably was randomly generated, so there's no one to blame directly. They should have a better filter on the random word generator to prevent such things, though. |
