NEC
announced its first LED-backlit desktop
monitor. The new 22-inch
MultiSync EA222WMe provides the same amount of brightness as other panel types
but requires 20% less power due to its
LED technology. In comparison
to previous generation LCDs from NED, the EA222WMe uses up to 52% less power. The
monitor also radiates up to 61% less heat, weighs up to 25% less, and uses up
to 15% less packaging.
In addition, the monitor is compliant with ENERGY STAR 5.0,
TCO 5.0, and EPEAT Gold standards. The monitor and cables in this display are
free of mercury, halogen, and arsenic. To help users track their carbon
savings, the display offers a resettable carbon footprint meter that calculates
the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The monitor also has a resettable
cost meter that shows the user’s electricity cost savings via the On Screen
Display.
The MultiSync EA222WMe features:

The EA222WMe comes with a full ergonomic stand, which offers
110mm height-adjust, tilt, swivel, and pivot functionality. The monitor also
comes with a 3-year parts and labor limited warranty. It will be available this
month for an estimated street price of $339.
