Not content simply to launch a new iPad today, Apple announced various other new, slightly less exciting but certainly noteworthy items, as well.
First off, Siri now speaks more languages; with iOS 5.1, she now supports English, French, German, and Japanese. The upgrade is available stateside today and will roll out to Japan in the coming weeks.
Apple TV has a simpler, icon- based interface and now includes support for 1080p HD content from all your favorite sources, including iTunes, Netflix, and Vimeo. With iCloud as a hub and with AirPlay integration, it’s easy to acquire and stream content to and from Apple TV and iOS devices and computers. The latest Apple TV will be available on March 16th for $99.

The iLife suite of apps for iOS is now complete with the introduction if iPhoto for iPad and iPhone; iMovie and Garageband got upgrades today, too.

The new iPhoto includes Multi-Touch, which is designed to make it easy and fast to sort through photos and edit or retouch them with “fingertip brushes”. You can adjust color, exposure, and contrast, add effects, and easily share them via social media. Additionally, you can share photos between devices or to Apple TV.
iMovie’s new features include the ability to create “Hollywood-style” trailers; Theater View, which gives you themed templates; and of course, easy sharing capabilities to YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook, as well as streaming to Apple TV.
All of the new iLife and iWork apps are available now; updates are free if you already bought the apps, and new purchases are $4.99 (for each iLife app) and $9.99 (for each iWork app).

iLife updates
In Garageband, up to four people can now play (and record) together in Jam Session using wirelessly synced iOS devices running Touch instruments. The software synchronizes the tempo and other aspects of the Touch instruments such as the key, and you can work with the recorded tracks right on the iOS device with the new Note Editor.
