Microsoft Reveals New Mice And Keyboard Accessories For Windows 8

Newsflash: Microsoft isn't just a software company. As if the Surface wasn't reminder enough that the company also knows a thing or two about hardware, it has just introduced new mice and keyboards designed specifically to play nice with Windows 8. Win8 is slated to hit shelves on Oct. 26th, and if you were worried about having kit around to take advantage of the bells and whistles, don't. The highlight of the new bunch is the Wedge Touch Mouse, a sleek little guy that's super tiny while supporting four-way touch scrolling and navigation. It also features BlueTrack Technology so you can use it on virtually any surface, and it includes Backpack Mode to power down and sleep along with the computer it’s paired to. It'll ship for $69.95, presumably in time for the Windows 8 launch in October.

Then, there's the new Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard, which aims to bring "full-size keyboard comfort, efficiency and speed to a tablet." It's a Bluetooth device that boasts a cover to protect, while it coverts into a tablet stand on command. Price? $79.95. Finally, the Sculpt Touch Mouse offers up a four-way touch scroll strip, utilizes Bluetooth and will sell for $49.95. We're guessing this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Windows 8 accessories; something tells us you'll be covered, and a lot of it will be made available by Microsoft itself.
