Micron CEO Steve Appleton Dies In Plane Crash At Age 51

Micron has grown to become one of the world's leading providers of advanced semiconductor solutions, and a lot of the company's success is due to the leadership of Steve Appleton. On Friday, the company's CEO perished in a plane crash at the age of 51. Mark Durcan, Micron President and Chief Operating Officer, said the following: "Steve was a true friend who will be dearly missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and our team members as we all grieve this tragic loss."

Pursuant to the Company's bylaws, Mr. Durcan, in his role as president of the company will assume the responsibilities of CEO until a successor is appointed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will convene a meeting over the weekend. Steve became the company's COO in 1991, and began his role as CEO in 1994. Steve was the only man onboard the aircarft, which crashed shortly after takeoff in Boise, Idaho.

Unbelievable hear/see how people die. When your day comes there is no way back. Destiny decides who lives and who dies.

Personal Life--->"Steve Appleton participated in a number of sports, including professional tennis. His hobbies included scuba diving, surfing, wakeboarding, motorcycling and more recently, off-road car racing. His aviation background included multiple ratings and professional performances at air shows in both propeller and jet-powered aircraft. He also had a black belt in Taekwondo." source Wikipedia.org
