It would be too easy to mock MetroPCS for collaborating with Snoop Dogg
to market the release of the world's first LTEAndroid smartphone (the
Samsung Galaxy Indulge), but when you think about it, too many companies
take themselves far too seriously. MetroPCS is going the opposite
direction with this latest stunt, and it's actually pretty hilarious if
you let yourself go and just enjoy it. Somehow, the company has
convinced Snoop Dogg to change his name to Snoop Dogggg for the purposes
of the launch. You'll notice he now has 4 Gs instead of 2. Clever.
The stunt is being pulled in order to bring recognition to the Indulge,
which is beating both the HTC ThunderBolt and LG Revolution to market on
the LTE front. MetroPCS was actually the first carrier out to utilize
LTE, beating Verizon Wireless by a hair. And they're also amongst the
cheapest when it comes to 4G carriers, and by relying on a no-contract
model, there's no commitment to deal with, either. Snoop's saying that
MetroPCS' 4G network helps to keep him connected, which is essential for
his "connected lifestyle." We'll let you be the judge, but be sure to
judge his first appearance on "The G-Connection" below as well. Oh,
