One of the things with these behemoth companies like both Intel and Microsoft that is kind of funny is how slow they react to anything anymore. Yes they both usher in the own new stuff, specs, usable tools and hardware. However; they they react uber slow to other players. They may have more time because of there size I guess, and you can bring a market back with enough penetration, which of course they generally have, but there names also loose some clout and recognition. This Meego thing as well as the slate/tablet and smart phone thing on Microsoft is an addressable showing of said slow movement. They it seems are convinced they are to big to fail. While in some cases this may be true to a point a giant still has two feet. If they loose them there movement ability and rate are hindered extensively. This would make them easier to be killed if you get my drift. This thing with Nokia as well as the Atom, Thunderbolt, CPU/GPU iterations etc are weaknesses that they refuse to see or admit it seems. I hope Meego does something as it means more competition in a way at least for standards. But in several specific ways such as these they both seem to be limping on said platform. If they do not realize at least to some degree what they are doing wrong it is ridiculous especially with these two companies resources etc. |

>> (rapid1): One of the things with these behemoth companies like both Intel and Microsoft that is kind of funny is how slow they react to anything anymore. Thumbs up. Couldn't agree more. I wanted MeeGo at one time, but I think they've blown their window of opportunity. I wouldn't mind having a device with it - but it will likely be a minor player like WebOS. |
