Nvidia still has a hill to climb yet with all the failures and of course the 4870 and the x2 it caught between some silicon and a hard place. |
from what ive seen the 280 can still hold its own, and is about 100-150 cheaper! so it isnt exactly a bad deal at all. for 100 dollars less you still get amazing performance and you get the ability to tri-sli them. i say that while amd is top dog now, it also has a lot to do with bang for buck, i say the 4870 is perfect in the price range it is in, and for the people who want great performance but cant shell out 550, i say the 280 is great.

I'm loving the competition! I so glad that the 4870x2 isn't $650 or more. Prices are awesome right now. |
radeon 9700 times were a beast. top video card for only 250... cmon man whats not to love? you had the new dx, top notch performance and only 250... i miss days when a video cards was under 400 (im talking about TOP models) |
