MSI Reveals 15.6" and 17.3" F Series Notebooks

Another month, another new MSI notebook. This time, the company is introducing a new F Series of laptops, including the FX620, FR620, FX720 and FR720. All of those employ Intel's 2nd-generation Core i5 CPU, and if it's horsepower and variation you're after, these have it. The 620 models have 15.6" displays, while the 720 models have 17.3" panels.

Those also have Turbo Battery+ (a power saving technology), Easy Face recognition software, THX audio, Cinema Pro image technology and decent graphics processing. The FX models are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GT520M (1GB), complete with DirectX 11 support. The FR models rely on Intel's integrated HD 3000 solution, which should result in lower costs, greater battery life and less capabilities when it comes to gaming.

There's also an HDMI output, jet black covers, a chiclet keyboard and USB 3.0 ports. You'll also get Bluetooth, charging USB sockets, optional Blu-ray drives, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and a 2.5" HDD. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we suspect they'll be on sale in the coming weeks.

MSI F Series—In with the New Fast laptops with a touch of class

MSI is rolling out a new generation of F Series notebook computers. Eric Kuo, associate vice president for global sales, MSI Notebook, notes that the new F Series NBs are much more powerful. All of them pack Intel's 2nd generation Core i5™ processor and the FX620 and FX720, in particular, come equipped with nVidia GeForce GT520M discrete graphics card with 1GB of display memory and support DirectX11 which greatly enhances picture resolution for richer multimedia and game applications. The FR620 and FR720 come with Intel's built-in HD 3000 graphics card. These powerful new cards provide improved display performance on par with that of discrete graphics cards.

S-Bar toolbar: MSI's new F Series laptops not only offer the most powerful hardware available, both its hardware and software were designed with the user in mind. The S-Bar toolbar, located at the top of the screen, consists of shortcuts for major OS programs, for hardware, and for MSI's own applications.
