MSI Releases AM3 Gaming Series Motherboards
One of the more desirable features found on the new duo is their full support of
OC Dial and MAX FSB advanced overclocking technology. Users can simply rotate the virtual OC Dial knob in order to check the FSB clock state, and even those new to overclocking should find it easy enough to crank things up via MAX FSB. Said tech enables the board to intelligently reach an optimal overclocking target by evaluating the installed hardware and making safe, stable adjustments.
Each motherboard also provides support for 7.1-channel surround sound, while the real differentiating factor is in the graphics potential. The 790FX-GD70 includes no fewer than four PCI-E x16 slots, enabling up to four high-end graphics cards to work together in churning out triple-digit frame rates. The lower-end 790GX-G65 gets stuck with an AMD 790GX integrated chipset, built-in Radeon HD3300 GPU and just two PCI-E x16 slots. Check out the full specifications below.

The FX board actually looks sweet, but why did they have to go and do the multicolored crap to the GX board? Odd placement of the chipset on the FX board, right next to all them mosfets. I understand that the heatpipe designs mean all those heat sinks are tied together, but what im not liking is that the FX chipset is placed so close to the mosfets that internally in the motherboard im thinking that will cause the chipset to heat up and run hotter than if they moved it over so that they were not in such close proximity to one another. |

SWEET :) I have been looking to upgrade my desktops and waiting for the AM3 chipsets to make my decision. I am just glad to see them start hitting the market. I am still going to wait till june/july to do it anyway. I think the market should be a bit lower and wider by then. However, the components need to be on the market for a bit for bios stability, features, and prices to cool some. Hopefully we will see the next cpu sets by then to and I can make a stable decision on what I'm going to get. Either way the Motherboard is the first choice on any system I build because it is the most critical component at least to me. So I am glad there finally starting to hit the mmarket. |
