MSI Demos New Concept PCs

Although they're not quite ready for prime-time just yet, MSI gave us a glimpse at three new PCs the company is working on creating. The company believes the new systems could redefine the way customers interact with digital information within the home.

The first concept PC is a 3D All-in-One PC. To use this PC, you must wear wireless 3D glasses which deliver "the ultimate life-like gaming experience and 3D HD movie experience from the comfort of home with system's stunning 24-inch display."

Next up, MSI showed off a Sliding Screen All-in-One PC with LED Technology. This PC lets you slide the screen up and store the keyboard behind it when not in use, thereby saving desk space. The system also comes with a wireless mouse that can be used as a remote control or an IP phone.

Last, but not least, MSI demoed the MSI Projector PC. This full-featured PC replaces the traditional display of a computer with a built-in HD-quality projector. With this PC, you'll be able to view movies and other content up to 60 inches in size. The Projector PC is designed to project directly on a wall or screen. You can also rotate the unit 90 degrees and use the attachable stand to display images on the ceiling.

Although these PCs won't likely become reality for a little while, it's fun to see what MSI has in the works. Which model are you most interested in?

I think the wall projector sounds interesting to me. The first one a "3D" all in one seems like a joke to me. Of course I would need to know considerably more design wise to make an actual judgment. However; from what I would assume is it has a better than middle ground GPU, and they generally run hot. To top it off a all in one unit generally is rather crowded for space which also adds to the heat. So I would at least initially think if it worked well it would not last very long, and or there's no way that's going to be a well performing stable unit. The middle one with a mouse which can be an I phone etc umm, I think, well no comment. Either way new research, products, and out of this world ideas is where a home PC came from anyway right.

@rapid1 You'd be surprised. TV manufacturers and networks are already banking on 3D being the next big thing. With slip HDTV, any performance in resolution won't compel consumers to make a new purchase, but 3D capabilities might.

Also, Avatar is the first movie to make as much money out of 3D theatres.

I don't like the idea of sliding a mouse around on my dirty desk and then placing it against my face.

"What was that? Hold on I got some crumbs in my ears..." lol

acarzt,......You could wash the mouse in the Pizza first,.............

None of them interest me at first glance. I'd like to "SEE" the projector PC to check it's quality of screen display. (at night and during the well-lit daytime)

Which brings me to an other point.... I've worked on projectors before... there's not a ton of room in there cases and they get incredibly hot. Not an ideal location for an entire PC.

Yeah the heat issue I totally agree with you on acarzt. For me that also goes for the all in one deal. When you use performance parts generally there is considerably more heat. So either they use mid range parts at best or have some enhance cooling method which would seemingly be mentioned if it exited so I assume it does not. The Iphone mouse etc thing my first thought was the same I don't think I would want the bottom of a mouse against my face and or ear.

So you could use the PC to cook the Pizza first!

Such a deal!

Lol, what about the mouse-phone? I think it's a pretty good idea.

The projector pc is kinda cool. I honestly feel the same way I feel about All in ones. Projectors and monitors usually far outlive a PC for me, so throwing the whole thing away feels like a waste.

News:
To use this PC, you must wear wireless 3D glasses
Indifferent

Also all in one and ultimate gaming should never go together.

lol bob, I didn't even catch that line

I don't want to be forced to wear some glasses just to use my computer!

My optomitrist tried to pull that one already and that lasted all of 2 weeks lol
