Lenovo Introduces Sleek And Powerful ThinkPad X201 Tablet PC

Lenovo was one of the biggest notebook players at CES, as they introduced a plethora of new machines from low-end to high-end. Obviously just having a handful of new machines on the horizon isn't enough for the company, as they have today introduced their "fastest ultraportable laptop" along with a powerful business-oriented Tablet PC.


In total, six new Think-branded products are making their debut, with the ThinkPad X201 standing as the flagship. Lenovo calls this the industry's quickest ultraportable, which offers a 12.1" capacitive touch screen (multi-touch capable) dual input devices (trackpad and the famed Lenovo "nub"), Windows 7, the latest Intel 'Core' processors, a superbright outdoor screen as an option, a raft of security features, stereo speakers, a 2MP camera, 54mm ExpressCard, integrated TV tuner, FireWire and an optional DVD drive. Lenovo is also throwing in up to 8GB of RAM, multiple USB ports and WiMAX/3G/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth wireless protocol support built in. The X201 is also said to last up to 11 hours on a charge, with the X201s (the smaller version) weighing in at 2.5lbs. and lasting over 12 hours of battery life.

The other updates are detailed below, with the ThinkPad X201, X201s, X201 tablet, W701, W701ds and ThinkServer TS200v becoming available this March. Pricing for models of the X201, X201s, X201 tablet, W701 and W701ds start at approximately $1,199, $1,599, $1,549, $2,199 and $3,799.
