Lenovo Details ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook: Sleek And Sexy

Wondering when Ultrabooks were really going to take a turn for the dashing? How's about now? Lenovo has just come clean with loads of new details on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and if you haven't seen this thing before, it's worth staring at for a bit. At $1399 (the entry-level machine), you'll get a 1.7GHz Core i5-3317 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD and an Intel HD IGP. If you need to stay connected at all times, an optional 3G radio can be added. For $1499, you'll get a 1.8GHz Core i5 (while all other specs remain the same), and the flagship $1849 model tosses in a 2.0GHz Core i7 CPU.

The Ivy Bridge CPUs are obviously the big sell, but being just 0.13" thick doesn't hurt, either. The X1 Carbon also grabs a 1600x900 resolution 14-inch display, with a carbon fiber casing to go along with it. The battery is rated for just over six hours, and that's not too shabby considering how little space there is for battery cells. Just dreamy, isn't it?  One is on the way to the HH labs for review any day now we're told!
